Day 1 — Face It
The First Crossroads of Your Day
“How long, you sluggard, will you lie there? When will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to relax, and your poverty will come like a robber, and your need like an armed man.”
Today's Teaching
The morning alarm isn't just noise; it's often the very first choice you make each day. It’s a quiet moment, just you and that signal to begin. Right there, before you even get out of bed, you face a decision: get up, or hit snooze? This might seem small, but these tiny choices can shape your whole day. We often choose comfort because our bed is warm and the day ahead can feel heavy. We tell ourselves a few more minutes will help. Sometimes it does, but often it leads to rushing and a day that feels behind before it even starts. Let's really look at this simple choice and what it means.
Putting It Into Practice
Notice your immediate reaction to the alarm today. Be honest with yourself about why you want to snooze or why you choose to get up.
Today's Challenge
Today, when your alarm rings, simply observe your first impulse. Don't judge it, just see it for what it is.
Think About It
What does my first reaction to the alarm tell me about my approach to the day ahead?
Let's Pray
Dear Lord, open my eyes to the small decisions I make, even before my day truly begins. Help me see the patterns and choices that shape my life. Give me wisdom to understand myself better. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today's Takeaway
Your morning alarm is more than a sound; it's your first choice for the day.
