Who Do You Say That I Am?

“Jesus, who are You to me?” That's where our journey begins.

If we're going to build a Discipleship Academy, I think there is only one place we can really begin.

A lot of people know things about Him.

But there is a big difference between knowing facts about Jesus and understanding who He really is.

Jesus once asked His disciples a question that I believe every one of us eventually has to answer:

But eventually the question comes to you. Who is Jesus to you?

Everything in Christianity rises or falls on the answer to that question.

If Jesus was simply a good teacher, Christianity is one thing. If He was merely a religious leader, it is something else.

But if Jesus really is who Scripture says He is — the Son of God, God who came among us, the Savior who died and rose again — then He cannot simply be another interesting person from history. He changes everything.

So I don't want you to rush through this first study. Whether you've followed Jesus for fifty years or you're just beginning to ask questions, come back to the foundation.

And then allow the question to become personal:

Scripture: Matthew 16:15
